Duren Orthodontics
Dr. Duren opens the practice in Longview.
Our practice has cared for East Texas families since 1968, providing expert orthodontic care and compassionate service.
Throughout the years, our doctors have committed themselves to providing the highest level of care so they can create smiles that last a lifetime.
Our story began in 1968, when Dr. Duren opened Duren Orthodontics in Longview. Dr. Carroll Sherman joined him in 1980, and the practice became Duren & Sherman Orthodontics, one of the most respected orthodontic partnerships in East Texas. Both men are retired now. We are grateful for the standard they set: treat every patient with respect, and always be available when they need you.

When Dr. Duren retired, Dr. Carroll Sherman was joined by his son. Dr. Darrel Sherman returned home to Longview in 2000 after completing his residency in Houston, and father and son practiced together as Sherman & Sherman Orthodontics. Dr. Patrick Briscoe, whose own father was a general dentist, joined in 2008. When Dr. Carroll Sherman retired in 2016, the practice took its present name, Sherman & Briscoe Orthodontics.

Dr. Sherman and Dr. Briscoe
In 2018, Dr. Stacee Burson brought her two offices into the practice and joined as our third orthodontist. She had opened Texarkana in 1991 and Magnolia in 1993. Fifty-eight years and three generations of orthodontists later, the work is the same. Careful diagnosis, a plan built for the individual patient, and a team that knows your family.

We live and raise our families in these towns, so supporting them is not a program. It is part of how the practice runs.
Each of our six offices supports schools and events in its own community. We focus on two areas: schools, and civic organizations that serve children.
One example is Finn's Friends, a nonprofit that helps families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy with the substantial costs of caring for a child with the condition. We support their gala and golf tournament each year, and the money raised goes directly to families.
If your school or organization would like to talk with us, we want to hear from you. For Longview, Marshall, Gilmer and Lufkin, ask for Lindsey Searle at (903) 753-2151. For Texarkana and Magnolia, ask for Brittany Fisher at (903) 334-8080.
